From providing better intelligent lighting control to asset management, major IT network providers are providing PoE standards to enable Power over Ethernet lighting & IoT platform solutions. These intelligent lighting advancements are now impacting all areas of society offering more control of both natural and artificial light and empowering Lighting Designers with more tools than ever before.

  2. Understand how POE works and how to create a proper specification.
  3. Review the expanded lighting controls POE allows and understand how POE complies with CA energy codes.

Presented by Andrew Pospisal & David Kane

Andrew Pospisal is the Director of Hardware Engineering with Igor and has over 20 years of experience in the building controls and energy efficiency industries. At Igor, Andrew is responsible for new PoE hardware and UL certification coordination and compatibility testing of 3rd party equipment with the Igor solution including PoE network switches, LED fixtures, sensors. Andrew also runs Igor University, the company’s customer and partner training program and uses his subject matter expertise to contribute to products and process documentation. Andrew received his degree from Iowa State University with an emphasis on Control System Design.

David Kane is the Lighting Project Manager for Igor where he works closely with design and installation professionals around the world to design their projects with Igor’s PoE technology. David truly believes that once you have a PoE system installed, you have the backbone to integrate all the other technologies to make your space a “Smart Building.” David has been with the Igor team since 2017 after accumulating an extensive background in the Architectural Lighting industry. He earned a Theatrical Lighting Degree from the University of Minnesota which led to a 30+ year career in the architectural lighting and controls field. Within that field he has experienced multiple roles ranging from lighting and electrical retail, to being a manufacture’s representative, to running his own lighting consultant business.
